Hasanain Haji, founder and director of The A B Group, is an accomplished business development specialist with decades of global experience.
Born in Dubai, educated in Kenya and DRC, Haji arrived in the UK aged 14 and by the age of 17 was working with a law firm that specialised in immigration, refugee and human rights cases.
A business development specialist with more than 20 years of global experience and contacts, an accredited Mediator, and although Haji began his career as a human rights paralegal in the late 1990s, he soon followed his father into business, starting a milk powder enterprise in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Since then, he has built a reputation as an expert in business development, managing and leading teams, using his networking skills to grow companies’ international customer bases and transform their sales.
He also has a wealth of experience in gold mining, refining and trading, having set up a refinery in Sierra Leone and worked with the Ghanaian government and organisations in Ghana and Switzerland.
During his time in Ghana, he was a business development consultant for one of the very few companies in the country which successfully built a business based on a public-private partnership. He was subsequently headhunted to help build a sales pipeline in over 8 countries in Africa.
Haji also spent several years in business and wealth management consultancy, specialising in land, property, commercial and corporate finance.
Following the formation of A B Group Haji has used his network of international contacts and negotiation skills to grow companies in various sectors.
Away from work, Haji is a keen traveller, involved in charitable activities, an amateur aviator and enjoys tennis, swimming and golf.
